Welcome

Welcome to Temple Beth El

Our congregation is a place to gather, to learn, to celebrate, and to support one another through every stage of life. Whether you are exploring Jewish life for the first time, returning after time away, or have been part of the community for many years, you are welcome here.

Rooted in Reform Judaism, our community brings together individuals and families of many backgrounds who share a desire for meaningful connection, thoughtful worship, and living our values in the world.

A Community Rooted in Belonging

We are an intergenerational congregation where relationships matter. In keeping with Reform Judaism, we welcome Jews of mixed lineage — whether Jewish identity comes through a mother or a father — and we are proud to be home to many interfaith and mixed families.

We affirm and embrace Jews of Color, LGBTQ+ individuals and families, and all who are seeking an inclusive and welcoming Jewish community.

Our synagogue has been located at the corner of Victoria Avenue and Central Avenue since 1964, and we remain deeply connected to both our Jewish heritage and the broader community around us.

Our Mission

Temple Beth El is a diverse Reform Jewish congregation dedicated to worship, study and social responsibility.

The congregation, through the commitment and involvement of our members, serves the spiritual, educational and life-cycle needs of our Temple family and the greater community in order to have a positive impact on the world.

Our Leadership and Community

Our congregation is led by Rabbi Guershon Kwasniewski, whose warmth and presence help make congregants and visitors alike feel welcome and included. We are also supported by Rabbi Emerita Suzanne Singer, whose intellect, kindness, and humor have helped shape the joyful spirit of our community.

Alongside our clergy, Marcela Epelbon-Lavi leads education and community development, supporting learners of all ages.

Our dedicated Board of Trustees serves as lay leadership, helping guide the vision and stewardship of our congregation.

We Invite You

We invite you to join us for worship, participate in programs, connect with our clergy and staff, or simply introduce yourself. This is a community built on participation, care, and shared responsibility. We look forward to welcoming you.
