Celebrate the Holidays with TBE

Jewish holidays mark moments of reflection, joy, memory, and renewal throughout the year. At Temple Beth El, these sacred times bring our community together to celebrate tradition while creating meaningful experiences that speak to contemporary Jewish life.

Each holiday offers its own opportunity to gather, learn, and connect, whether through worship, shared meals, music, or community celebration. Families, longtime members, and newcomers alike find ways to participate that feel welcoming and authentic.

High Holy Days

The High Holy Days invite us into a season of reflection and renewal. Through prayer, music, and thoughtful teaching, our congregation gathers to welcome the new year and engage in the work of introspection and forgiveness. Services are designed to be accessible and meaningful for all generations, with opportunities for learning, family participation, and personal reflection throughout the holiday period.

Sukkot

During Sukkot, our community steps outdoors to celebrate gratitude and togetherness. Members help create and decorate the congregational sukkah, transforming it into a shared gathering space for blessings, meals, and connection. The holiday reminds us of both life’s fragility and its abundance as we celebrate under the open sky.

Simchat Torah

Simchat Torah is a joyful celebration of Jewish learning and continuity. As we complete one cycle of Torah reading and begin again, the congregation gathers in song and celebration, honoring the enduring relationship between our community and Torah across generations.

Hannukah

Hanukkah brings warmth and light to the darker days of winter. Temple Beth El celebrates with communal candle lighting, music, and festive gatherings that bring families and friends together. The holiday highlights resilience, identity, and the power of shared tradition.

Purim

Purim is one of the most spirited celebrations of the year. Through storytelling, costumes, and joyful gatherings, we retell the story of Esther while embracing humor, creativity, and community connection. The holiday offers space for celebration alongside reflection on courage and responsibility.

Passover

Passover recalls the journey from oppression to freedom and invites each generation to see themselves within that story. Community Seders and holiday observances bring members together around ritual, storytelling, and song, creating meaningful opportunities to reflect on freedom, justice, and shared memory.
